Belatedly (I am just now getting around to... a Variety Of Comments): thank you for saying! And yes, as lebannen said, I was trying to communicate how startled I am at the extent of change! When I was roughly the protagonist's age, around early teens (also under Section 28), I thought we'd probably get same-sex marriage eventually but I wasn't sure it would be in my lifetime. I am just constantly astonished by how much It has Got Better.
