If Martin does the Extinction's ritual to banish all the powers, what happens if he succeeds? I mean, best case scenario, the ritual succeeds and it does banish all the fears... where do they go, and what do they leave? Do they have an existence separate from ecosystem in which they evolved, and it from them, or...?
Also, if Martin fully accepts a role as the Extinction's Avatar as the price of destroying all the fears, does he develop an appetite for killing Avatars?
