Today I learned a) that there exists a unit of measurement called a barn, and b) right before I was going to crack a joke about the name, why it was named that (rendering any joke I could make redundant)
(The Wikipedia spiral that led to my acquiring this information went something like MRI > MRA > MRI contrast agent > Gadolinium > Barn. Gadolinium comes from the Hebrew 'gadol', great, and has nothing to do with gladioli.)
