I am reminded that a very very straight male friend once confessed to me, deeply serious major personal revelation kind of thing that he thought he was maybe possibly attracted to O'Brien. I assured him that nobody was going to take away his "straight" card because he thought one particular man was kind of hot, and even if they did, hey, being bi isn't so bad. I wonder if he feels vindicated now knowing that O'Brien is only 70% male...

Unfortunately, the Radio 4 programme that accompanied the article is an absolute trainwreck, very nearly from beginning to end, give or take the high point of Ruth Pearce saying "genderqueer" on air (!!).
