• new mattress continues Very Good Yes Thank You; I am just not noticing it, which is The Ideal
• old washing machine has Left; new washing machine is In; it got a calibration cycle and then AN ACTUAL WASH which means I WILL HAVE SOCKS and so far it has behaved absolutely fine apart from the bit where it apparently doesn't stop yelling until you acknowledge that you know it's finished (so the Yell option has now been turned off) (and I'm not thinking too hard about the bit where I can set it up to be remote-controlled by my phone...)
• I, er, accidentally... catalogued? and tidied? and thought A Lot about organising? all of the embroidery floss? (and thanks to a prompt from A have made substantial theoretical progress on working out how I want to crunch the necessary numbers to arrange them neatly in RGB space in a proper continuum, unlike the official colour cards...)
• afternoon errands included: taking the expanded polystyrene (from the washing machine but also other adventures) to the local tip Household Waste Recycling Centre that collects it for recycling, plus bonus batteries and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment; dropping lots of cardboard and the assembled compost and the washing machine mini-pallet at the allotment; dropping off a small bag of Stuff at the charity shop; ... and coming home with some more Stuff from B&Q for A's purposes, but overall we're still at Net Negative Stuff for the weekend and I'm feeling pretty good about that
• and now we are going to have a Midnight Snack of poached quince + custard. the quince mix is currently heating. goodnight. <3
