even if you feel your edges worn away to nothing--
even if all you can hold onto is the idea of stopping--

I'm having complicated feelings about all the shitty ways we get told "you are/exactly as you are meant to be", and how precisely that is not what I mean, and how otherwise to express this - but it is enough -- it is enough.

Those things, I want to believe, but somehow, each time someone says that it is enough for me to be who I am, i winder why I can't be better.

I think what is key for me is that sufficiency is not an upper limit, and my sufficiency contains my ability to expand my potentials.

Okay. That's going to take some mental re-training to get to, but it sounds like an eminently healthier way of looking at things, since my "must be better" usually comes in the context of self-flagellation for faults, perceived or real.

I've certainly found it easier to live with than constantly shouting at myself for, as you say, faults perceived-or-real. <3
